Thunder (雷, Kaminari) is Pikachu's down attack and down aerial attack in Super Smash Flash and his down special move in Super Smash Flash 2. A bolt of electricity crashes down upon Pikachu, dealing massive knockback to anyone near Pikachu and the bolt. In Super Smash Flash, the bolt went straight through the floor; but in SSF2, the attack will stop at the floor and can be blocked by certain ceilings. Pikachu is given horizontal mobility (if in the air) during the animation of the attack. The bolt meteor smashes.
Thunderspiking

Thunderspiking is a unique technique that Pikachu can use with this move. After launching an opponent into the air (can be done using up smash, up tilt or up aerial,) Pikachu must use Thunder directly below the opponent before they recover from hitstun. If enemies are brought near the upper blast line, it allows for very early Star KOs at percentages where Pikachu could not normally reliably KO opponents. However, at said low percentages, enemies are able to recover from hitstun fairly quickly and air dodge away from the attack, hindering its effectiveness. This is no longer possible after 0.9b due to the bolt meteor smashing now.
