It formally is called the X Tournament Series. The only real reason the MG thread is not accurate to this is because I haven't edited the op outside of dates and X Scoring System changes since the original post in December.
The reason it is called the X Tournament Series and not just X is because of discrepancies using just X, including but not limited to: Mega Man X and the various parts of X itself (the X Scoring System, the X Tournament Organizers, and the X Scoring Team). To prevent these discrepancies, it is technically the X Tournament Series. Please understand. X also refers to everything listed above as a whole (except Mega Man of course).
Along with that, the related tournaments are also formally named X Series I, II, etc; however outside of tournament stream footage this hasn't been widely used until recently.
