The Rolling Cutter (ローリングカッター) was originally one of five special weapons that could be changed into Mega Man's standard special move, Weapon Use, with the Weapon Change in Super Smash Flash 2. It was removed in v0.6 of the SSF2 Demo, where it was replaced with Super Arm.

Overview

When performed, Mega Man would throw a Rolling Cutter, a small, scissor-like projectile, a short distance in front of him. Upon contact with an opponent, the projectile would deal 10% damage and small knockback, and it would also disappear. After traveling a short distance, the projectile would then boomerang back to Mega Man with a much faster speed if it does not hit any opponents. If Mega Man were to dodge the projectile before it reaches him, it would continue to fly in that direction, and it would be able to travel the length of the entire Waiting Room before disappearing. While traveling in this direction, its height in the air would remain consistent to Mega Man's relative location; for instance, if Mega Man were to jump to higher ground, the projectile would slowly rise to Mega Man's height as it travels.

Origin

MM1 Rolling Cutter

The Rolling Cutter is a weapon originally acquired by defeating Cut Man in the original Mega Man. In this game, the Rolling Cutters are scissor-like weapons thrown like boomerangs, flying in front of the player in a teardrop-shaped pattern. It will always return to the player when thrown; even if it hits an enemy, it will fly through and continue its flight. It was also Elec Man's weakness and most effective weapon to use against him. In SSF2 it functions similarly to its Mega Man counterpart, except much like its later appearances, the projectile will disappear when it hits an enemy.
