The stage is made up of three sections. There are two upper platforms on either side of the stage and one lower platform in the middle. The center platform is actually two platforms connected by a log. There is a pit on either side of the middle platform. There were no logs fall in the waterfall, unlike in the Melee version.
The music track is, oddly, Princess Peach's Castle as opposed to the original Ground Theme from Super Mario Bros. 2. Because of that, the music also loops earlier than usual.
This stage is from Super Mario Bros. 2, but the graphics of the background of the stage are from the Super Mario All-Stars' version of Super Mario Bros. 2. Unlike in Melee, Birdo does not show up at the end of every area to shoot eggs at the player, Pidgit and his flying carpet are also absent.
This stage is rather infamous due to its appearance as the second level of Classic mode, where the player must face Mario and Luigi (but only if he has been unlocked) with Samus as the teammate, as most of the time the match ends early due to Mario and Samus self-destructing in the gaps of the stage.
