Nintendo 3DS is a starterstage in Super Smash Flash 2. The battle takes place on top of the handheld console, which can be one of nine different colors as chosen randomly when the stage is loaded. Similarly to WarioWare, Inc., Nintendo 3DS interacts with the fighters by changing the stage layout to resemble different games, some which are based on indie titles that are on the 3DS' virtual library. In single-player modes, it serves as the default home stage for characters who do not otherwise have one.
In December 31, 2010, on the eve for Super Smash Flash 2 Demov0.7's release, Developer, Jamal Ransaw, announced a reskin for the main McLeodGaming website, even showcasing the new buttons the site would have carried. This never came into fruition and no other word of this announcement was spoken ever again, not even after the site actually got reskinned in March 3, 2016.
A Super Mario World Episode 2 and the original Super Smash Flash remain the only works created by McLeodGaming alone (not counting the co-developed Yeah Jam Fury) who were awarded in the Flash portal website, Newgrounds. A Super Mario World Episode 2 received a "Daily 3rd Place" award while Super Smash Flash received the "Frontpaged" and "Daily Feature" awards.
