Ichigo's up special move.
Kōtei-ki Tōshin (航程気刀身, "Air Voyage Blade") is Ichigo's up special move in Super Smash Flash 2. Ichigo uses the cloth on his Zanpakutō to spin it above his head like a helicopter blade. This move has good horizontal recovery when used in midair, but lacks vertical distance. When used on opponents, it hits multiple times. In demo v0.7, its attack power is increased when he hits his opponent with the last strike. The very last spin of the move has a slightly larger hitbox than the rest of the spins. As of v0.9b, opponents above Ichigo will float and stay stationary as if the attack acts as a fan when used on the ground.
- The name of this technique stems from the use of Ichigo's Zanpakutō as a means of flight, hence, "Air Voyage".
- In the Bleach series, this technique did not allow Ichigo to fly. This element was purely added to Super Smash Flash 2 because Ichigo had no way to gain height in the canon series.
- This attack received an aerial animation in the demo v0.8a.
- In the anime/manga this method is normally used only by Ichigo's Inner Hollow, who also will use it like a medieval flail, and throw Zangetsu straight towards the target, while pulling back on the cloth-wrap to prepare to throw Zangetsu once more.
