In the original Golden Sun, he is the character the player takes control of throughout most of the game. He is the party leader in Golden Sun and is a classified in-game as a Venus Adapt. This means he has the ability to manipulate earth-based forces such as the ground and plants. Isaac is on a quest to pursue Saturos and Menardi after they raid sacred mountain shrine Mt. Aleph and steal elemental jewels that will unleash the force of Alchemy upon the world of Weyard.
In Golden Sun: The Lost Age, Isaac facing off against Karst and Agaito who are trying to avenge the death of their clan mates Saturos and Menardi. He finds out that Alchemy is needed for the world to survive so he teams up with Felix to restore the Alchemy to Weyard.

- Main article: Isaac (Super Smash Flash 2)
Isaac has become a playable character in Super Smash Flash 2 since the Beta version. He was revealed as a teaser during the McLeodGaming Direct on July 21, 2014. His sprite design is inspired by his appearance in Super Smash Bros. Brawl, but it is a whole new design. He has a custom voice provided by Darcy Maguire instead of using voice clips from his games, like other characters have. His moveset consists mostly of psynergy spells, with little sword-based attacks. Isaac is ranked 9th on the A tier on the most recent iteration of the tier list.
- Isaac was intended to be a playable character in Project M, though he was in the early stages of creation at the time the project ceased development. Though this is not counted as an official case of a Super Smash Flash character later becoming officially playable in the main Super Smash Bros. series, as it is with Sonic, Cloud, Meta Knight or Mega Man, it is still worthy of note for fans of the project. Knuckles shares this distinction, but was much closer to completion than him at the time of PM's cancellation.
