A ground attack is an attack in Super Smash Flash 2 or Fraymakers that is performed while the character is standing on the ground, as opposed to aerial attacks, which are performed while the character is airborne.

Each game has eight different ground attacks performed by pressing the attack input in any of four directions or no direction at all while grounded. Some attacks, in order to be performed, depend on how closely together the attack and the directional inputs are pressed.

  • Neutral attacks and tilt attacks tend to be quick and weak, often starting combos or strings. More rarely, they can serve as spacing or get-off-me tools. Sandbag's neutral attack in SSF2 is known for being one of the few that can KO reliably.
  • Smash attacks in SSF2 and strong attacks in Fraymakers are most often exceptionally strong and one of the character's finisher options. They can also be charged to deal more damage and knockback or to properly time them. However, they tend to have a higher amount of lag when compared to the other ground attacks.
  • Dash attacks are performed while running or dashing and often have low startup lag, allowing these attacks to quickly hit opponents and start combos easily. They frequently have a fairly high ending lag, however, making them easily punishable should a player miss their dash attack.
