Needle Storm (仕込針) is a recurring attack in the Super Smash Bros. series also usable by Sheik in the Super Smash Flash series.
Overview[]
The attack consists of Sheik throwing multiple slim, almost invisible needles in a straight line forward, which travel quickly and damage opponents that make contact with them.
In Super Smash Flash[]
In the original Super Smash Flash, Needle Storm is Sheik's neutral attack. When performed, Sheik reels her hand back for a moment and then tosses four needles forward simultaneously, though together they all consist of one single hitbox. The needles travel at very high speeds forwards, dealing 2% damage per frame and relatively weak knockback to opponents that make contact.
In Super Smash Flash 2[]
In the reboot, Super Smash Flash 2, Needle Storm has been transformed into Sheik's neutral special move, where it now functions more like its Super Smash Bros. counterparts. It is now a chargeable move, and the charge can be saved and charge-canceled both on the ground and in the air. When used in the air, the needles travel at an angle roughly 45° towards the ground. The charge determines how many needles Sheik throws consecutively, with a minimum of one at no charge and a maximum of seven at a full charge. The needles deal 3% damage each with weak knockback on opponents hit, meaning that all seven needles together would accumulate a total of 21% damage.
