Sheik is a playable veteran starter character in Super Smash Flash from The Legend of Zelda series that appears as a 2-in-1 character alongside Zelda, with the ability to transform into each other with their down attack. Unlike the other Zelda characters in the game, Sheik's custom sprites were a courtesy of Tonberry2k instead of SemiJuggalo. Still, Tonberry2k utilized the characteristic Mega Man Zero-like style inspired by SemiJuggalo's own sprite sheets.

Sheik is ranked 3rd on the current tier list, placing her in the S tier.

Sheik addresses some of Zelda's flaws, by giving her more speed, a bit more power, and a projectile. Whilst her recovery is still similar to Zelda, her projectile gives her a better defense against some characters. Unlike the official games, Nayru's Love deals damage, can be cancelled out of, and has the ability to instantly KO opponents. Other moves that have the instant-kill trait are her up attack and down aerial.

Unfortunately, Needle Storm has a slow firing rate, decreasing its utility. Her lack of disjoints also give her a hard time against characters that have them.

Due to how well she addresses Zelda's flaws, she remains a force to be reckoned with, placing her in the highest tier.

Neutral attack SSF Sheik standard attack Sheik uses Needle Storm, throwing a set of four fast-traveling needles in a straight line. 2%
Side attack SSF Sheik side attack Sheik rushes forward as she performs a movement very similar to her neutral attack (just without the needles), hitting opponents with her hand glaring. If the button is pressed continually, Sheik can do a clockwise rapid spin kick. 4%
Down attack SSF Zelda - Sheik down attack This attack is a combination of two attacks from the Smash series: Nayru's Love and Transform. Sheik gets covered in an octahedron-like blue barrier, which has a hitbox. Once the attack is over, Zelda will be left behind.

Comparing to Zelda's version of the move, Sheik's down attack deals more damage and sends opponents upwards.

Up attack SSF Sheik up attack - down aerial Sheik does a clockwise rapid spin kick, damaging opponents on contact. 6%
Down aerial This attack looks very similar to Sheik's up attack but is otherwise different as she now spins seemingly slower. This attack also has a moderate amount of startup lag, unlike her up attack.

Trivia[]

  • Sheik's in-game sprite has a grainy texture; this is normally the inherent compression that happens when saving a .gif file, which results in the reduction of the amount of color the file has. Sheik is the only character in SSF that suffers from this issue.
  • Sheik is the only character whose sprite's credits are not mentioned in the credits reel.
