Headbutt, known in Japan as Donkey Headbutt (ドンキーヘッドバット), is Donkey Kong's side special move in Super Smash Flash 2.
Overview[]
When performed, Donkey Kong leans back and then quickly smashes his head forward into the ground. When grounded characters make contact with his head, they are buried in the ground and dealt 10% damage, along with the chance for Donkey Kong to attack again. When hitting aerial opponents, the move instead meteor smashes them with somewhat weak knockback.
The move has a short range forward and an even shorter range upward, and it cannot hit opponents from behind. Despite this, the move has very little startup or ending lag, making it relatively safe to use in most situations. Additionally, Donkey Kong's momentum is completely stopped when using the move either on the ground or in midair.
Origin[]
This move is reminiscent of the Chimpy Charge move used by Diddy Kong in Donkey Kong 64, granted headbutts do occur infrequently throughout the Donkey Kong and Mario games.
