Distant Planet (とある星) is a starter stage in Super Smash Flash 2 from the Pikmin universe. The stage resembles how it appears in Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS.

This state, alongside Silph Co., Shadow Moses Island and Skyward Voyage, was removed in Beta 1.0 and is currently unavailable. It may or may not be added back in.

Layout[]

The stage has a ramp (who serves as the main platform), a medium-sized platform and three small platforms. Another platform is the Red Bulborb, that will appear randomly and open its mouth.

Tournament legality[]

This stage is banned in tournament play. The left side of the stage is a walk-off sloped surface with a very close side boundary, promoting degenerate camping strategies and allowing for early KOs. The main platform is pass-through, which makes sharking an issue. Couple that with the right edge of the slope, which ends underneath the main stage, and you have a powerful position that can be used for both sharking and circle camping.

Origin[]

Distant Planet origin

Pellet Posies in the Awakening Wood, from Pikmin 2.

In the Pikmin series, Captain Olimar journeyed to an unknown and unnamed world. Because the planet that Olimar traveled to had no name, it was simply called Distant Planet because it was far away from Olimar's homeland. Many characteristics of the stage come from the planet which Olimar traveled to.
