Cleod9

From McLeodGaming Wiki, a wiki about McLeodGaming

Cleod9, whose real name is Gregory McLeod, is the creator of the Super Smash Flash series and the founder and leader of McLeodGaming and its forums.

[edit] Early work

Originally, Cleod9 was a maker of games for the TI-83+ calculator. During his early college time in 2003, Cleod9 developed a great admiration to Flash animations and eventually learned to make his own Flash movies series like Animus, School, Munchies, and A Super Mario World. After founding his site McLeodGaming, Cleod9 had now a big couple of Flash animations that decided to work in his first big game project, although he made previous games like Pong, The Cell and Adivina La Película. Cleod9 is a big fan of the Super Smash Bros. series, so in 2006 he began to create a fangame based on the last installment of the series in that moment, Super Smash Bros. Melee. After 4 months of hard work, he finished the acclaimed but criticized Super Smash Flash. Viewing the success of Super Smash Flash, Cleod9 decided to make a sequel known as Super Smash Flash 2 that is based off of Super Smash Bros. Brawl which will include new characters, stages, online capability, new game modes and more. Cleod9 is also the administrator of McLeodGaming Forums; a place where the SSF2 discussion takes places along with other topics. Many people wanted to base things in Super Smash Flash 2 on Cleod9 like the storyline. Cleod9, though, stated that he does not want to be represented in SSF2 at all. However, it is rumored that a stage, "Cleod Stadium", will be featured in the upcoming Super Smash Flash 2.

[edit] Future work

Although it hasn't been sure what exactly is to come after SSF2, Cleod9 himself said that McLeodGaming is an official company and therefore, its very likely that games will continue to be produced.

[edit] In Super Smash Flash 2

A character named Cleod9, obviously a reference to the creator of the Super Smash Flash series, was rumored to be in Super Smash Flash 2 as an Assist Trophy. However, Cleod9 disproved these rumors, saying that he does not wish to be represented in the game.
