Beat Call (ビートコール, Bīto Kōru) is Mega Man's up special move in Super Smash Flash 2. Mega Man pulls Beat, a robotic bird, out of his pocket, giving him about three seconds worth of flight. This move can also be used in conjunction with only uncharged Mega Busters, even if he has a different weapon equipped, like Super Arm, and the move can be canceled by any aerial attack. Upon receiving damage or canceling the move with an aerial attack, Beat will fly away leaving Mega Man unable to perform the move again, though he won't become helpless. This move also depletes Mega Man´s Double Jump, regardless whether he used it before or not. However, if he cancels the move before being hit he will be able to use Beat again. This move grants Mega Man heavy armor in the initial frames of the move. As of Beta, if Mega Man gets hit when using this move, he can use the move again.
After the player rescues Beat in a hidden area in Slash Man's stage using the weapon Scorch Wheel, Beat will appear whenever Mega Man falls into a pit and pull him for a while, but only if he previously had an item known as Beat's Whistle. The player, then, must move to a safe area before Beat releases Mega Man, as he can't hold his weight for much time. Beat did the same thing in Mega Man 9 and Mega Man 10, the item required to use him was renamed Beat Call, though.
- Beat is one of Mega Man's customizable special moves in Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS/Wii U.
